Partnership

As of December 2006, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Richland County became partners
with Cra-Wa-La, to mentor children of incarcerated parents in Richland County,
we are currently serving 6 children in this program.  If you should know of a child
with incarcerated parents and they could benefit from one-to-one mentoring
please refer them to our office at, 392-3863. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Richland County has recently expanded to Clay City and Mt. Carmel Schools.  Both areas are completing school-based Mentoring Minutes, mentors meeting one hour per week with the same child the entire school year.  Working on school work for the first 30 minutes, and building lasting friendship through role modeling, talking, playing games and listening the other 30 minutes.  Cathy Witsman, School Guidance Counselor supervises the Mt. Carmel program and Jerin Romack, Guidance Counselor, supervises the Clay City Program.  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Richland County is proud and excited to have expanded to these communities to provide mentoring to these children, which will make a lasting impact on their lives.
